Farm Biodiversity Auditing – Making it Work for Farmers (Free Workshop)

We are working with the Cairngorm Crofters and Farmers Community (CCFC)    to deliver a practical, hands-on workshop looking at how Biodiversity Audits can support farm management and future funding requirements. This event is also supported by SAC Consulting and the Soil Association.

Why Attend?

With agricultural support shifting towards biodiversity and climate outcomes, understanding the Biodiversity Audit process will become increasingly important. From 2028, a Biodiversity Audit will be mandatory for the Basic Payment Scheme, with many farmers aiming to complete their audits by 2026. This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to get ahead of these changes and integrate biodiversity planning into your farm management. We will also demonstrate how the process can be straightforward, beneficial, and adaptable to your farm’s needs.

What Will Be Covered?

The workshop will be held mainly outdoors, providing practical experience with:

  • What’s involved in a Biodiversity Audit
  • How auditing can support farm planning
  • How to conduct an audit and meet Whole Farm Plan requirements

Staff from SCI, CCFC and SAC Consulting will be available to answer any questions about the process, requirements, and benefits of biodiversity auditing.
