We would like to thank everyone who joined us in Kingussie on Wednesday evening for our community consultation on the Allt Mor Erosion Scar Investigation.
It was a very well-attended and constructive event. We greatly valued the opportunity to share our findings so far, listen to people’s experiences of flooding in the town, and hear your ideas on potential solutions.
The evening focused on: what are the issues, what do we already know, and what are the possible solutions. You can see the three event posters below for more information:

Next steps
The information and perspectives gathered at the consultation will help shape the next stage of the investigation as we continue to explore how erosion scars on the Allt Mor contribute to sediment build-up and flood risk in Kingussie, and what actions could help reduce these impacts while enhancing the local environment.
Our next steps will be to investigate some of the potential solutions, which were raised by the community, in more detail, along with continuing to assess the viability and feasibilty of stabilising the erosion scars. This will involve further fact-finding before identifying the most appropriate next steps. We will then hold a further consultation event, later in 2025, to present our findings and share the information that we have gathered about the possible solutions.
Online consultation
If you were unable to attend, we would still like to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to complete our short online consultation form here: https://forms.gle/iSid6YdQwKeTxMKL7
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed. We look forward to updating the community as the project progresses.
