We are delighted to welcome Ffion Robb to the Spey Catchment Initiative team as our new Spey Tributaries Project Officer.
Raised on an upland farm in Stirlingshire and with recent experience delivering nature restoration projects in Yorkshire, Ffion brings a wealth of practical knowledge, a deep appreciation for the natural world, and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
Before joining SCI, Ffion worked with River Holme Connections, a catchment-based charity in Yorkshire, co-designing, delivering and maintaining a wide range of projects such as woodland and hedgerow creation schemes and tackling artificial barriers in the River Holme. Her experience includes working with volunteers and contractors to deliver projects on the ground such as tree planting and invasive species control, as well as collaborating with partners across Yorkshire to achieve more collectively – skills that will be invaluable in her new role.
At SCI, Ffion will be working across the Spey catchment to scope, design and deliver riparian woodland and other habitat restoration projects. She will work in partnership with landowners, land managers, communities and partner organisations to enhance the health and resilience of the River Spey and its tributaries.
With Ffion now in post, we are excited to expand the delivery of river and riparian woodland restoration projects – supporting a healthier future for our rivers, wildlife and communities.
Speaking about her new role, Ffion said:
“I’m really excited to join the SCI team and get started on projects that support both people and nature. The Spey catchment is such a unique and dynamic landscape, and I look forward to working with local communities and partners to help restore and protect it.”
Please join us in giving Ffion a very warm welcome to the team!
